【著者紹介】

今野真二（Konno Shinji）
1958年神奈川県鎌倉市生まれ。1986年早稲田大学大学院博士課程後期退学。高知大学助教授を経て、清泉女子大学教授。専門は、日本語学。特に日本語の歴史、日本語の表記。著書として『仮名表記論攷』（清文堂出版、第30回金田一京助博士記念賞受賞）、『日本語学講座』全10巻（清文堂出版、単著）、『漢語辞書論攷』（港の人）、『消された漱石　明治の日本語の探し方』（笠間書院）、『図説日本語の歴史』（河出書房新社）、『正書法のない日本語』（岩波書店）、『詩的言語と絵画　ことばはイメージを表現できるか』（勉誠出版）、『『日本国語大辞典』をよむ』（三省堂）、『振仮名の歴史』（岩波現代文庫）、『テキストの変容　動態としてのテキスト』（武蔵野書院）などがある。

クリストファー・ローウィ（Christopher Lowy）
1986年米国フロリダ州マイアミ市生まれ。ワシントン大学大学院東アジア言語文学科日本語・日本文学プログラム博士号取得。現在、カーネギーメロン大学准教授（日本研究）。専門は日本の現代文学、書き言葉の歴史、現代思想。現在の研究テーマは主に二つに分類され、一つ目は日本（語）文学における文字の機能、特に非標準的な日本語の表し方を対象に。二つ目は初期エイズ危機を背景にした日本の文学、メディア、美術など。論文のほか、『現代思想』や『ユリイカ』（ともに青土社）にも投稿多数。
