略歴
1954年大阪府生まれ。神戸大学大学院文化学研究科博士課程修了。博士（文学）。Ph.D. (Linguistics)。神戸学院大学教授、奈良教育大学教授を経て、現在、龍谷大学文学部教授。専門は英語学、認知言語学。
