東京都立大学人文学部英文学科卒業。東京大学大学院総合文化研究科言語情報科学専攻修士課程、博士課程修了。博士（学術）。東京都立高等学校、くらしき作陽大学音楽学部を経て、現在、了德寺大学教養教育センター教授。
